SAS Ant axed
Channel 4: His values are not same as ours
ANT Middleton has been dropped by Channel 4 over his “personal conduct”.
The SAS: Who Dares Wins star was heavily criticised last year after he called Black Lives Matter protesters “absolute scum”.
It is understood there may have been further issues since then which led Channel 4 to axe him from the hit show, and it will now continue without him.
Two series already filmed with him will air later this year.
Channel 4 said: “Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series. Following discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it’s become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again.”
Last year he was removed from ITV’S Soccer Aid and stood down as Chief Cadet of the Volunteer Cadet Corps. It came after he tweeted on June
14: “BLM and EDL [English Defence League] are not welcome on our streets, absolute scum.” He was responding to a video claiming to show a “Blm/antifa agitator hunting lone veterans and football lads”. He later said: “At no point was I calling BLM scum.”
After learning he had been dropped he tweeted a photo of himself looking into the distance, saying: “First day of a brand new month! Head into it with a mission and plan on how you’re going to be the best version of yourself.”
On Instagram he said: “After five incredible years I’ve decided it’s time to move on from SAS: Who Dares Wins... Really excited about the future and what’s coming this year.”
Middleton became a TV star after leaving the SBS in 2012.
