Patsy Palmer cut her interview with the ITV breakfast show short yesterday, after spotting the tagline “addict to wellness guru” on the screen.
Through belated apologies from hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, the former Eastenders star announced she would “do a Piers Morgan” and dramatically exited the live chat by snapping shut the lid of her laptop – an excellent online equivalent of storming off.
Later voicing complaints on Instagram that her “precious” segment was being “wasted”, she told critics who commented on her behaviour, in no uncertain terms, to “go f*** yourselves”.
“I keep seeing people saying ‘get over yourself ’,” she said. “I have gotten over my old self years ago and no longer wish to discuss it when I only have five minutes’ air time.
“I am not going to waste those precious five minutes talking about things that are 20 years old or about
Meghan and In the brief few minutes of chat, Patsy had been asked about her Californian neighbours, as well as about her famous “Rickaay” catchphrase.
But conversation hadn’t yet turned to her new company when she spotted the offending tagline and snapped: “It’s not OK to have ‘addict to wellness guru’ at the bottom of the screen.
“My issues that I had years ago that were talked about by me many, many years ago and it’s over.”
The hosts insisted they quoted the word “addict” from her 2007 autobiography, All Of Me, in which she detailed her battles with drink and drugs – but this only caused further offence.
“I haven’t written a book in 20 years,” she later fumed. “I’ve worked hard on myself to remove negativity from my life and the lives of my children,” she added.
Prior to going on air, Patsy had noted that in Malibu it was midnight, which is a difficult time for her, as she’s usually a “morning person”. She did warn them.

US police are investigating if a suspected mass killer targeted his massage parlour victims because of his sex addiction.
Officers are also looking at whether race played a factor in Tuesday’s attacks, which left eight dead including six Asian women.
The shootings took place at a spa in Acworth, north of Atlanta, with two more in the city.
Suspect Robert Long, 21, who was charged with eight murders and assault, told police he has taken “responsibility” for the killings.
Captain Jay Baker, of Cherokee County, said: “He claims it was not racially motivated. He apparently has a sex addiction.
“He said it was a temptation for him he wanted to eliminate.”

Bottoms said the suspect was held as he drove to Florida to “perhaps to carry out additional shootings”.
South Korea confirmed four of the victims were of Korean descent.
It comes as hate crimes against Asian-americans have spiked, fuelled by rhetoric blaming them for Covid. US President Joe Biden said: “Whatever the motivation here, I know Asian-americans are very concerned.”
The attacks took place within an hour and began at Young’s Asian Massage.
Two women died at the scene while two white people later passed away. A Hispanic man was also injured.
Police were called to a robbery at Gold Spa in northeast Atlanta where three women died. Officers also found a woman had been killed at the nearby Aromatherapy Spa.
