AGE-DEFYING CELEBS WE ASPIRE TO LOOK LIKE AS WE GROW OLDER

- BY KATIE GALLAGHER Showbiz Reporter

JENNIFER Lopez has been voted the celebrity that looks most fabulous over 40, with women saying they’d have no problem aging if they looked like her.

While there are many conflicting arguments as to whether being like super fit 40-plus stars sush as J-LO and Jennifer Aniston is unattainable or inspirational, a recent survey showed the latter to be true.

According to the results, almost 40% of women claim they would be more than happy if they looked as good as the Jenny From The Block singer at 51. After her striking performance as a stripper in blockbuster Hustlers in 2019 and her memorable 2020 Super Bowl half-time show, it’s not hard to know why.

Next on the list of over-40 stars who have seemingly defied the ageing process is Aniston, who came in second place with 34% of the vote.

Almost 30 years on from when she first shot to stardom as Rachel Green on Friends, the star – who turned 52 in February – has become the poster girl for barely aging.

But there’s no doubt the actress has had a little help smoothing out her skin. And three decades on, she is still known for her signature style, luscious locks and a rockin’ body to boot. Meanwhile, closer to home, 51-year-old Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly, who always looks glam dressed head to toe in sequins while she hosts the show, also made the list of age-defying celebs.

And it seems blondes led the way on the survey, as supermodel Kate Moss, 47, was named among the star-studded line-up. Flying the flag for the brunettes are Kim Kardashian, 40, and 61-yearold TV chef and author Nigella Lawson.

For the men, football star David Beckham, 45, came out on top for the most age-defying male alongside 48-year-old actor Idris Elba, who was previously named the Sexiest Man Alive by American celebrity magazine People in 2018.

James Bond star Daniel Craig made the cut, with the 007 star still charming fans with his looks at 53.

The final list also boasts many more wellknown faces including Dame Helen Mirren, who is still looking fit and fabulous at 75.

It comes as the acting legend recently joined

that cast of the Shazam! sequel, marking her first role in a superhero film.

TV presenter Claudia Winkleman, 49, was also mentioned, as well as actress Kate Beckinsale, 47. Famous faces have long been redefining what the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond can look like.

Catherine Zeta-jones, 51, Salma Hayek, 54, and Halle Berry, also 54, are all driving the conversation around shifting beauty standards over the years.

While their youthful appearances may seem miraculous there is no miracle about it, with most putting some seriously hard work and money into their looks and physique throughout the years. And according to the survey of women by aesthetic clinic finder Glowday, most millennials now start to think about treatments such as Botox, fillers and chemical peels by the tender age of 33.

As many as 70% said seeing themselves on so many video calls over the past year has made them consider having an anti-ageing treatment.

While almost a third – 30% – feel the stigma around these sorts of procedures is oldfashioned and becoming a thing of the past. In fact, as many as 19% of women have had lip fillers, 16% have had anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox and 15% have been to see a specialist for micro needling.

The survey also revealed many females are planning to treat themselves to procedures such as laser hair removal (43%), lip fillers (34%), Botox (22%) or a chemical peel (22%) to make themselves feel better following a terrible year in lockdown.
