Prince Albert: ‘Harry & Meg were wrong to go public’
PRINCE Albert of Monaco has slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for choosing to share their “dissatisfaction” with royal life in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Prince Albert said the broadcast “wasn’t the appropriate forum” for the couple’s concerns as they should have been kept “within the intimate quarters of the family”.
Earlier this month, Prince Harry and wife Meghan shocked the world by telling the TV presenter that a royal had made a racist remark about their son Archie.
Harry only revealed that it was not the Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh who had offended them.
Speaking to the BBC World News, Albert said: “I think this type of public display of dissatisfaction,
It doesn’t really have to be laid out in the public sphere like that PRINCE ALBERT ON THE EXPLOSIVE OPRAH INTERVIEW
these type of conversations should be held within the intimate quarters of the family.
“It doesn’t really have to be laid out in the public sphere like that. So it did bother me a little bit.
“I can understand where they’re coming from in a certain way, but I think it wasn’t the appropriate forum to be able to have these kind of discussions.”
Albert, 63, is no stranger to scandal himself, having had an illegitimate son and daughter.
The billionaire was hit with a further paternity suit in December and fought claims that he fathered a third love child with a secret girlfriend before marrying his wife.
Advising Harry on life in the US, Albert – son of movie star Grace Kelly – said: “I wish him the best but it’s a difficult world out there, I hope he can have judgment and wisdom to make the right choices.”
