Titchmarsh: I feel for my pal Charles

Alan’s sadness after Oprah interview

ALAN Titchmarsh has defended his close friend Prince Charles following the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying: “I feel for him a lot.”

The gardening expert, who has done several TV and radio shows with the royal, said it was “sad” what Charles had been put through since the bombshell chat aired this month.

The Crown in solidarity with Charles, added: “He is an amazing man. I feel for him a lot. But he’s got enough people, I hope, who value what he does and can see what he does and can field for him.

“He’s a man who has dedicated his life to his country and changed lives. There

Alan has been visiting the heir to the throne’s Highgrove garden for 30 years.

Meanwhile, Easter Monday will see the start of Alan’s new series Spring Into Summer, which will feature celebrity guests including singer Michael Ball, chef Ainsley Harriot and model Twiggy. The Mirror gardening expert, who has received his first Covid jab, will get regular tests along with ITV’S socially distanced camera crew while filming. ■ Alan Titchmarsh: Spring Into Summer starts at 8pm next Monday.
