ROY KEEPS HIS DESTINY A MYSTERY

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

ROY HODGSON claims he is more interested in the last nine games of the season than his Crystal Palace future.

The former England boss is out of contract in the summer and has not started talks about a new deal. Palace sit in 12th place on 37 points before Monday’s visit to Everton.

But Hodgson, 73, (above) said: “I am not interested in having that discussion at the moment. I am interested in working very hard with the players that are here and making sure we finish this season properly.

“As a result, it is the games ahead of me which interest me much more than next season at the moment. And when the time is right, we will discuss it.

“These are the things that I will keep to myself until such time as I feel it is the right moment to make any announcement.

“I am convinced the players, like myself, are very keen to do a good job in these last nine games and finish the season as high as we possibly can.

“As far as I am concerned, these matters will get sorted out in due time and that time will be decided by the club.

“We can possibly play with a bit less pressure because two or three of the last games have been extremely pressurised.

“If you talk about Fulham and West Brom and securing your place in the Premier League, they were really high pressure games.”

Turkish giants Galatasaray have offered Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt (circled) a three-year deal in a package worth £4.5million.

Dutch international Van Aanholt, 30, is out of contract at Selhurst Park in June and has shown no interest in extending his stay.

Palace have joined the race for Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic, who is expected to be available on a free transfer. The Serbian international, 29, is also being chased by Everton.
