JETSKI Romeo Dale Mclaughlan’s affair with his Isle of Man Juliet Jessica Radcliffe appears to have hit the rocks. Friends say the couple have split just months after he risked his life crossing the Irish Sea to be with her.

The break-up was revealed days after Jessica was charged with an attack on another woman on the island. Mclaughlan, 28, won Jessica over by buying a £5,000 jetski and spending four-and-ahalf hours making the 27-mile journey from Scotland in December. The love-sick roofer from Irvine, North Ayrshire, was locked up for breaking the island’s Covid lockdown restrictions. After he was freed, mum-oftwo Jessica, 30, gushed: “I love Dale. How could

I not after what he did?” On his release, Dale said: “I would do it all over again.”

But now their romance looks to be sunk.

Dad-of-two Dale failed to get residency status and was sent back to Scotland. And Jessica has deleted photos of him from Facebook.

Last week she appeared in a court in her home town Douglas, via a video link, charged with actual bodily harm and two counts of causing criminal damage.

She is also accused of breaching coronavirus lockdown rules.

Dale and Jessica first met in September last year, when he worked on the island.

After returning home, he was determined to see her again despite Covid rules and set off from the Isle of Whithorn in Dumfriesshire.

He struggled with high waves and lost his GPS, but found the island and walked 15 miles to his lover’s home.

Dale said: “I thought I was lost at sea. But the thought of Jessica kept driving me on.”
