WING’S STILL FINDING LIFT-OFF DIFFICULT

- BY IAN MURTAGH

TALK about a Wing and a prayer – Rotherham’s loan signing from Middlesbrough did everything but score as Huddersfield hung on for a point which was more valuable to them than their relegation rivals.

The Millers could certainly do with Lewis Wing (right) enjoying better luck after he hit the woodwork, brought out the best in Terriers keeper Ryan Schofield and trooped off the pitch on the final whistle wondering how he has still to break his duck for the club.

His side have matches in hand, with four on the bounce at home – and if they play as well as they did here, the table could look a lot healthier soon. Wing averaged a goal every five games for Boro but nothing since arriving at Millmoor. “Nothing is going in for me right now,” he moaned. “I haven’t scored yet and the longer it goes on, the more frustrated I’m getting.

“But at least I’m creating those chances and it’s not like I’m miles away. It feels like just a matter of time.”

At least the Terriers kept a clean sheet after a 7-0 beating at Norwich.

“It was important we didn’t lose,” said midfielder Duane Holmes. “But the job isn’t done until we’re safe.”
