THE terminally-ill father of the man found dead in Michael Barrymore’s pool does not believe he will get justice for his son before he dies.

Terry Lubbock was speaking after a 50-year-old held on suspicion of Stuart’s murder and indecent assault was released under investigation.

He said: “I don’t think I’ll be alive to see someone prosecuted for Stuart’s murder.

“For me the clock is ticking and I can’t wait another 20 years for the hope of justice.”

On Monday, Terry, 76, of Harlow, Essex, released a social media appeal for help.

He said: “We would like old witnesses to come forward and tell the truth.”

Terry revealed in February he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

After arresting the man, police said Barrymore and others at the pool party are to be questioned.

Barrymore’s former agent Mike Browne was quizzed last month to see if he has any information that could help police but it is not clear if the former TV presenter has been spoken to. Barrymore, 68, has always denied any involvement in Stuart’s death.

The suspect was held in Cheshire last month after “significant new information” emerged following a fresh appeal. Reacting to the news, Terry said the pain of losing his son “has nearly killed me”. Stuart, 31, suffered internal injuries suggesting he had been sexually assaulted at the party on March 31, 2001, in Roydon, Essex, which was attended by Barrymore and eight guests. During an appeal in February, DCI Stephen Jennings said: “We know not everyone at that party was responsible for what happened but someone was.

“We also know that not everyone at that party may know what happened but someone does.

“We want people who have information to come forward and talk to us – it is never too late to do the right thing.”
