GRIFFIN: TODAY IS ALL ABOUT US

IRELAND captain Ciara Griffin says the team are mostly keeping the focus on themselves rather than the opposition ahead of Saturday’s Women’s Six Nations clash against France.

Adam Griggs’ Irish team impressed last time out against Wales in a 45-0 win at Cardiff Arms Park but now take on one of the teams ranked among the top two in the competition, along with England.

But speaking during Friday’s captain’s run, Griffin evoked a sense of calm ahead of the fixture.

“We focus on us, what we can do and the performances we can put in,” she said.

“Obviously the French are a good side and we’ve done our homework on that but we’re focusing on us and everything we can put into this jersey.”

Griffin (left) added that the squad are satisfied with the fine-tuning they have been putting in during the week.

“It’s been a good week. Preparation has gone well for us in terms of analysis, looking at our own game and finding areas to improve on for the weekend, which is great,” she said.

“That’s what you want. Good training session yesterday and captain’s run now today.

“And this is the time, not just to fine-tune but to run out, execute and go over the basics and then preparation for tomorrow for the big event.”

ZULSTER have confirmed popular hooker Bradley Roberts has signed a one year professional contract for next season.

The Durban-born front row forward made his debut against Edinburgh in December and raced in for a try in a Pro14 win over Zebre in his last outing last month.

Young lock Cormac Izuchukwu has signed an upgraded contract until 2023.
