SWANS LOOK TO LIAM FOR PROMO PUSH

- BY GRAHAM THOMAS ADMIRAL MUSKWE (WYCOMBE)

LIAM CULLEN has vowed to do whatever it takes to drag Swansea back to the Premier League.

That includes playing against QPR tomorrow – even though he has trained just twice since January – and providing the goals in the absence of Andre Ayew.

Ghana captain Ayew has a hamstring injury, which could rule Swansea’s top scorer out of their remaining four matches in their quest to chase down Watford for second place.

Local boy Cullen (above) came off the bench to rescue a priceless point for head coach Steve Cooper’s side, even though he had done almost nothing since suffering ankle ligament damage three months ago.

“It feels stronger than ever and it’s nice to be back a bit earlier and be able to help the team,” said the Wales Under-21 striker.

“I feel really fit. They didn’t want to push me but I’ll do anything I’m asked. I want to play for this club as much as I can but it’s not my decision. If I’m called on to start or come off the bench I’ll just give it my all.”

Bottom club Wycombe have their own agenda and their 2-0 lead – with goals from Admiral Muskwe and Garath Mccleary – was well deserved.

But a Jamal Lowe penalty and Cullen’s header edged the Swans to just six points behind Watford, with the sides meeting on the final day of the season.

The Chairboys need a much bigger miracle to stay up, but manager Gareth Ainsworth said: “Fairytales do happen, so who knows? We have to get to 46 points and there are still other teams below that mark.”
