KEEPER DAN: I’VE GOT DEEP FEELING HERE

- BY NEIL GOULDING MOTM JORDAN STOREY (PRESTON)

PRESTON goalkeeper Daniel Iversen hinted he would welcome a return to Deepdale next season after a third win on the spin.

Iversen (above), on loan from Leicester, starred again with his fourth clean sheet in a row.

Goals from Jordan Storey and Ched Evans did the damage as the hosts stunned a Barnsley side preparing for the play-offs.

The Tykes struggled to produce the form which has fired them into the race for a sensational rise into the Premier League.

And Danish keeper Iversen, 23, was just delighted to have done his job again as the Lilywhites continue to impress under interim boss Frankie Mcavoy.

Iversen said: “As a goalkeeper you’re looking to keep clean sheets, just like a striker wants to score goals.

“But it’s not just about me, it’s about the whole team defending as a team. We defended really well, it’s credit to everyone.

“It’s not in my hands but I’m keen to go out on loan again.

“I’ve been on loan at Oldham and Rotherham – and I’ve enjoyed it here at Preston. It’s great to be liked by the fans.”

Defender Storey prodded home to give the hosts a welcome lead and then veteran striker Evans pounced after the break for his 12th goal of the season.

Iversen thwarted Jasper Moon with a smart save late on – but Preston were worth their win.

Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael said: “We deserve our position in the league and when you win it becomes an addiction, so we’re disappointed to have lost.”
