Anfield loanee Wilson stars for Bluebirds and demands Klopp gives him a chance

- BY JOHN WRAGG

HARRY WILSON is confident he is good enough to play for Liverpool and if Jurgen Klopp disagrees, then he is off.

Wilson scored a hat-trick of special goals to destroy Birmingham and now has one game of his loan at Cardiff to go.

His plan then is a starring role for Wales in the European Championship to give Klopp a big decision to make.

The 24-year-old has been with Liverpool since he was a boy but his dream of playing for them in the Premier League has yet to come true. Instead he has been loaned out five times in six years.

Wilson wants his future sorted out with Klopp and said: “It’s always been my aim to get into the Liverpool team and play for the club I’ve been at since I was eight years old.

“Even with the quality Liverpool have, the famous front three, I feel I’m good enough to be in that squad. I could add something different. I’ve always felt confident in my ability and playing with the players in that team would help my game.

“But it’s out of my hands, it’s up to the manager there to make that decision. I’m fully focused on finishing the season with Cardiff and then going to the Euros with Wales.

“I’m determined to have a good tournament and if it’s not going to be at Liverpool, then I am determined to get a move.

“I deserve to play at the highest level I can. I’m in great shape and it’s up to me to put the performances at the Euros to show teams I deserve a move.”

Anyone watching Wilson’s performance at St Andrew’s would snap him up now. He hit a 25-yard left-foot swerver into the top corner for his first goal, bent a free-kick around the wall for his second and put another free-kick into the top corner.

Bluebirds boss Mick Mccarthy said: “Why can’t he go back to Liverpool and play? Wilson is absolute quality.”

Mark Harris scored

Cardiff’s other goal, with Blues boss Lee

Bowyer’s gamble of picking three teenagers and a 20-year-old in his squad backfiring.
