Brit: TV doc hypocritical
Singer slams ‘prying’ on her life
BRITNEY Spears has branded films about her life and “conservatorship” battle as “so hypocritical” while appearing to blast the BBC.
She attacked programme-makers for perpetuating interest in her, posting on Instagram: “They criticise the media and then do the same thing ????? ”
The 39-year-old Toxic singer added: “Why highlight the most negative and traumatising times in my life from forever ago?”
Her attack follows the airing of two films focusing on the conservatorship – legal control of her £43million fortune, which she lived under since 2008.
The first, Framing
Britney Spears, was released by the New York
Times in February.
A second, The Battle for
Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship was released by the BBC at the weekend. It said court papers indicated dad
Jamie claimed she had dementia.
Posting a video of her dancing at home, she wrote: “Geez. 2021 is definitely way better than 2020 but I never knew it was gonna be like THIS !!!!
“So many documentaries about me this year with other people’s takes on my life… I’m deeply flattered !!!! ”
The mum-of-two added: “I’m thrilled to remind you all that although I’ve had some pretty tough times in my life… I’ve had waaaayyyy more amazing times in my life and unfortunately my friends… I think the world is more interested in the negative !!!! ”
Britney appeared to address the BBC film.
One of its sources is makeup artist Billy
Brasfield, who claims to be in contact with her.
“I don’t actually talk to Billy B AT ALL so I’m honestly very confused,” she wrote.
Both films detail her mental health issues that led Jamie, 68, to take legal control.
Next month she will appear in a Los Angeles courtroom to discuss the conservatorship.
