Adventures of Superfam

- SARA WALLIS with

BASED on the graphic novels by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, this is an instantly gripping, action-packed superhero series.

It begins with a gang of kids playing in the woods, then one little girl gets cross and sends all her mates flying with a scary flash of the eyes.

She and her brother have superhero powers, but she’s in trouble with Daddy, who swooshes down in rubber suit, cape and boots to give her a telling off.

“Don’t let your anger get the best of you,” says Sheldon Sampson, aka The Utopian ( Josh Duhamel).

Cut to the present day and the children are all grown up, and The Utopian is getting older.

After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their offspring to continue the legacy. But just like in any family, the Sampsons have to deal with plenty of tensions and arguments.

Daughter Chloe (Elena Kampouris) harbours resentment from events in her childhood, while his son Brandon (Andrew Horton) is constantly struggling to justify his worth and live up to his father’s sky high expectations. It’s a world of goodies and baddies, with plenty of adrenaline-fuelled villain take-downs along the way.

Expect some glorious old-school Superman vibes, especially in the scene where Brandon zooms out of a cafe to save the day, ripping open his shirt as he runs to reveal his superhero costume.

With good versus evil, alongside family dynamics, power and loyalty, this is Succession in superhero suits.
