SCOTT: I’VE NO MAGIC BUTTON TO PRESS

- TONY BANKS

SCOTT PARKER admits he has no “magic button” to put right all the mistakes Fulham have made.

But boss Parker (above) vowed he and his players will face up to their errors if the worst happens and his side are relegated.

Fulham face a must-win match against Burnley on Monday night at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers go into the game on the back of a wretched run of one point from a possible 18.

Parker said:

“We understand where we are – these are must-win fixtures. We’ve got four games and we’ve got to win all four.

“Of course there’s lots of things I would have done differently this season.

“Hindsight and looking back is always something you would love to do – but the fact is you can’t.

“Unfortunately there is no magic button you could press and start again.

“But what is a test of a person’s ability is that they can face up to those mistakes, learn from them and improve.

“That is what we will endeavour to do as a club, and I will endeavour to do and what I have done for a large part of my career.

“My belief is definitely not waning. I’m not mad or deluded – I understand the difficulty we’re in and how difficult that challenge is.

“But at this moment it’s still there for us.”

Sean Dyche insists

Ashley Barnes can still do a job for Burnley after finally overcoming his injury hell.

Barnes (below) made his comeback after nearly three months out with a thigh problem as a late substitute against West Ham last Monday.

The striker missed most of last year following groin surgery and has only managed three goals since November 2019. Barnes, 31, is pushing to make his first start against Fulham since scoring against the Cottagers in mid-february.

Clarets boss Dyche said: “Ashley’s a good player, we know that.

“He’s proved over a long period here that he’s a very effective player for us and I’ve got every belief in him.“

Burnley are giving away 3,500 free tickets to their supporters for the Premier League match against Liverpool at Turf Moor on Wednesday, May 19.

The club will hold a ballot of season-ticket holders from this campaign and those signed up for the 2021-22 season.

And they will ask successful fans to make a donation to NHS charities.
