What the Shrek..?
Mum turns green after ogre-doing old fake tan
A MUM who joked she was so pale she looked like a ghost got a real fright when her out-of-date fake tan turned her skin “ogre green”.
Kerry Mcrobb said: “I’m very pale without fake tan, I look like Casper – the friendly pale ghost.”
But after leaving it on overnight, the 20-year-old was shocked to wake up looking more like Shrek – or his sweetheart Princess Fiona if she’s lucky.
Children’s hospital support worker Kerry had decided to indulge in a pampering evening, hoping to give her skin a golden glow.
She dug out an old bottle of fake tanning cream and slapped on a couple of layers.
She said: “Before I was pregnant I would put it on every so often when I went out.
“As I was putting it on I noticed it was a little bit green and as it was drying it got worse and worse.
“I put two layers on and left it on BEFORE How Kerry usually looks overnight. I first spotted the khaki green colour on my phone’s camera that night, I was a bit taken aback.”
She shared the funny photos online with the caption: “This is my sign to stop fake tanning and get back to sunbeds asap” – and then she went to sleep. Her pals compared her to an animated ogre from the 2001 Dreamworks film, Shrek.
She said: “I shared the pictures with my friends, they found it funny.
“I said I looked like Shrek but I like to think I was more like Princess Fiona.”
In the films, Fiona is voiced by Cameron Diaz.
Kerry, from Livingston, West Lothian, woke up the next morning to have a thorough shower and scrub off her green tinge.
She said: “I hadn’t fake tanned in over a year because I was pregnant, so it was probably out of date.”
But thankfully she saw the funny side and added: “I wasn’t concerned as I knew it would come off, it was very funny.”
