NADINE Coyle believes she received signs from her late Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding while filming her new show.

And she told how “something flew off the shelf ” while she was at home which she believes was her tragic pal’s spirit.

The Irish singer described the past few weeks as “awful” since Sarah passed away last month aged 39 from breast cancer.

But Nadine, who was filming RTE’S new singing show Last Singer Standing at the time, believes her late pal was there with her in spirit and sent her signs as she struggled through swollen eyes and heartbreak to continue filming.

The mum of one told The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio 1: “Me and Sarah were close and always remained close.

“I was so close to her in life that it is difficult to kind of make that bridge.

“But there’s definitely been things, she’s made her presence known a few times.

“As I was shooting the show, it was right in the middle of it all and people were so kind and so lovely.

“My eyes started to swell and my whole body was rejecting what was happening and everyone was being so kind.

“But there was a couple of days when the headphones just flew across the table when I was sitting getting my make-up done and it happened three days in a row for no reason and the make-up girls were saying, ‘That has to be Sarah’.

“And then I was talking about her one night in my house and something went flying off a shelf.

FRESH

“I was like, ‘Is this Sarah? Is she throwing stuff ’ I’m kind of in that thing it is so fresh, so I’m still thinking she’s going to phone.”

Derry girl Nadine, 36, said she took comfort in those moments, particularly as she was in the middle of a busy threeweek shoot in Dublin for the new Saturday night show with no time to take a step back to grieve.

She added: “It just was the way it was. The show was scheduled, everything was booked. “There was no way they could take a break for me to kind of grieve or digest it all. “It was straight back into work the next day.

“And everyone was so kind and lovely and really patient with me, it was great.”

Nadine also reflected on her “traumatic year” since she first learned of Sarah’s diagnosis, saying: “It’s been awful I have to be honest.. it’s been awful since she was ill.

“It feels like it’s been a really traumatic year and a half, almost two years at this point. “It’s just a cruel disease and I know many people suffer with it and I wish everyone all the best, but we definitely lost a great one there.”
