CHERRIES CAN GET BACK ON TOP AGAIN
Solanke: No need to panic
Championship: 3pm and
BOURNEMOUTH goal machine Dominic Solanke insists there is no need to panic over their mini-slump.
The Cherries have won just one of their last four games and face another tough task at home to fifth-placed Coventry today.
Striker Solanke said: “We have still got a good margin between us and third place but we are disappointed when we don’t get the three points.
“Of course, there is no panic. We’re not even at the halfway point yet and we’re in a really good position.
“We knew that the whole season wouldn’t go smoothly, we’re having a bit of a dip.
“But the most important thing is that we try to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
“We have got such quality in the team and very versatile players so I am confident we will do that.”
Solanke has scored 16 goals in 20 games this season.
He said: “My confidence is really high at the moment. I am on a good run of goals and hopefully that will continue for the rest of the season.”
And Scott
Parker could unleash
Republic of
Ireland midfielder
Robbie Brady to help his Bournemouth side rediscover their mojo. Brady, 29, is still waiting to make his debut after joining the Cherries as a free agent.
He was released by Burnley at the end of last season.
Parker said: “He’s brought a real energy and experience. He has fitted into the group very, very well.
“It’s just like he’s been one of us for a long time, so he’ll be fine. Robbie’s doing very well and is pushing on.
“He’s come in with not a lot of work, due to his circumstances at the end of the season.
“We need to monitor and tread carefully with Robbie and we don’t want to take any big risks with him.
“Having said that with his experience, his nous and quality, I have no doubt if I need to put him in, he will go straight in and do a good job.”
Coventry boss Mark Robins says they must prepare to go from chalk to cheese today.
Robins’ Sky Blues were held 0-0 at home by a physical Birmingham side in midweek.
They now visit Parker’s Bournemouth who play a passing and possession game.
Sky Blues boss Robins (below) said: “There is a lot of energy that will be needed. It is another different one.
“They are a really good side and it is a difficult game. It will be the antithesis of Birmingham.
“This league is good because you come up against different challenges every game. Birmingham put up a tough game but the diversity of the teams in the league is good.”
