Blues will be ‘bad guys’

Liverpool in the country. They work hard for it and no offence. I can understand what he means.

“You know Klopp is the master of being the underdog. He can talk you into believing Liverpool are the underdog against Villarreal and against Benfica, and it’s a miracle how they even draw against them.

“There’s nothing to be jealous of from my side. Klopp is a fantastic guy, funny guy, one of the very best coaches in the world, and that’s what he does. When he trained Dortmund, the whole country loved them.

“So now he trains Liverpool and you have the feeling the whole country loves Liverpool. It’s a big credit to him, and this is what you deal with if you play against him. It’s always like this, but it’s always the fun part and so, if we are the bad guys, then no problem.

“Forty-nine or 40 percent, then no problem. We take that role, we don’t want to have the sympathy of the country, we want to have the trophy.”

A German manager will win the most English of trophies at Wembley for the first time. Chelsea have lost their last two finals – against Leicester and Arsenal – but Tuchel (above) has not lost to Liverpool in 90 minutes since taking charge at Stamford Bridge.

He added: “They allow chances and we proved it – we had big chances in the Carabao Cup final. But they take it, it’s their approach.

“It’s their style of play and it’s very difficult to find solutions. But you can find solutions if you have a perfect day. We are hoping for one.

“The FA Cup ranks very high. It’s one of the most traditional of competitions. To have the chance to win it, play the final at Wembley with two such big clubs, is huge for me.”
