Brit supermodel defends ex Depp in trial

KATE Moss yesterday rubbished claims Johnny Depp pushed her down steps when they were dating.
The 48-year-old supermodel appeared via live video link from her home as she provided testimony during Depp’s defamation case with Amber Heard.
She appeared in the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia to address a reference Heard, 36, made in previous testimony about Moss and “stairs”.
Moss, who said she dated Depp, 58, from 1994 to 1998, testified about the alleged incident at a resort in Jamaica.
When asked if she was pushed, Moss said: “We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did.
“There had been a rainstorm. As I left the room, I slid down the stairs, and I hurt my back. I screamed because I didn’t know what happened to me, and I was in pain. He came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”
Depp’s lawyer, Benjamin Chew, then asked if Depp pushed her in any way.
“He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” she replied.
Moss, who spent around five minutes on the stand after being sworn in from her Gloucestershire home, was not crossexamined by Heard’s legal team.
Heard had mentioned her while on the stand earlier this month.
Legal experts described the move as a “blunder”, while Depp’s legal team later fist-bumped each other.
Moss’s call to take the stand came after Heard described a March 2015 fight in which she punched Depp in the face. The Aquaman actress said it was out of fear he was going to shove her sister Whitney down a staircase.
Heard said she threw a can of Red Bull, which struck Depp in the back, adding she called him a “f***ing p***k”.
She said he became angered and followed her up a staircase. Heard said he grabbed her, at which point her sister Whitney intervened. “She threw herself in the line of fire,” Heard testified. “Her back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her... I don’t hesitate and wait. I instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs.”
Depp is suing his ex-wife over an op-ed she wrote about domestic violence. He is demanding more than £38million and Heard has filed a countersuit for nearly £78m.
Psychologist Shannon Curry, who diagnosed Heard with borderline and histrionic personality disorders, was recalled to the witness stand.
Depp’s team called the doctor to try to refute Heard’s expert witness, psychiatrist Dawn Hughes, who testified she suffers from PTSD triggered by abuse.
Dr Curry said Heard does not have PTSD and test scores indicated she had “exaggerated and feigned” symptoms.
The trial continues.
