Wandisco lights up with 33 jobs
CALIFORNIAN data company Wandisco is creating 33 jobs at its Belfast software development centre.
The firm is recruiting software engineers, user acceptance testers, customer success executives, and managerial roles in a move which continues its in Northern Ireland since first investing nearly 10 years ago.
It has joint headquarters in San Ramon, California, and Sheffield with offices in Newcastle upon Tyne, China, Japan, Australia and South Korea, as well as Belfast.
It helps companies to migrate their data to the cloud and “accelerate their digital transformation”. Alongside the 33 roles, an additional research and development project will create a further 11 posts which will see headcount at the firm double in the next three years in Northern Ireland. Richards said the skillbase in Belfast helped develop its live data platform which has performed strongly across Europe and the US.
He added: “With this new £7million investment, we plan to increase the platform’s functionality to integrate it with international cloud service providers and create 33 jobs.
“This will pivot our appeal to new global customers.”
Invest NI has offered the company £953,024 of support towards R&D, skills development and the creation of 33 jobs.
Director of Technology and Services, George Mckinney, said Wandisco’s reinvestment in innovation and research and development is bearing fruit.
He added: “We’ve been working with Wandisco for almost a decade, providing business advice and support to help grow its Northern Ireland base.”
