Smith vows Brexit block

OWEN Smith aims to order MPs to block Brexit if he becomes Labour leader.

He said they would oppose triggering Article 50 to quit the EU, unless PM Theresa May puts the final Brexit deal to the people through a general election or a second referendum.

He said: “Nobody knows what Brexit looks like. The people deserve to have a say on whatever exit deal the Tories strike with the EU.”
