Virtual revenge lacks real drama

-

Experts are trying to find a modern way of helping distraught lovers to break up in the digital world.

In the old days (pre-2006), the physical options were endless... ripping up a pile of love letters, burning romantic photographs, slicing suits, scattering cress seed on his wet carpet (No? Maybe just me).

Now psychotherapists believe simply hitting delete on amorous emails or blocking them from your WhatsApp lacks the drama needed for the heartsick to move on.

Their suggestions include a digital crystal ball with pictures projected on to it, which when shaken start to erode into millions of tiny fragments.

Or for romantic messages and pictures to be downloaded on to biodegradable chips which can be buried.

Which probably all serves a valuable role in reaching “closure” – but ain’t ever going to be as much fun as microwaving his CD collection.
