MY GOLDEN BIRTHDAY
# Last Saturday was my birthday and what greater present could I have been given than seeing my lovely granddaughter Susannah Townsend winning a gold medal for her country in the women’s hockey.
It is so lovely to have some good news in the world. And what’s more, she still had time to send me a message wishing me happy birthday!
She was extremely shy with people when she was young. But when she was 14 she showed an interest in sport and she started to become really confident. Then she was asked to play football for Arsenal, but she choose hockey. I’m so proud of her. I am absolutely thrilled for her. And we’re going to have a big party when she gets back.
