CATS FACE ANOTHER SHREWD AWAKENING

-

DAVID MOYES appears to have thrown in the towel two games into the season at Sunderland and that begs one obvious question – what took him so long? The Scot said that fans who fear another relegation dogfight were “probably right”, especially now they can’t take a guaranteed six points from Newcastle.

It seems Moyes used up all his good luck when he escaped from Everton. Now his luck is so bad that, if he bought a cemetery, people would stop dying.

Sunderland are 2-5 to beat Shrewsbury in the League Cup tonight and, if you are considering a bet on them, I can only assume you didn’t watch them on Sunday. In which case, I envy you.

Brought in by Sunderland as hippo-replacement therapy once Sam Allardyce (above) departed, Moyes is already one of the frontrunners for the sack race after back-to-back defeats.

The Shrews are no world-beaters but you don’t have to be to beat the Black Cats – you merely have to be Sunderland-beaters and I would suggest that is well within the League One side’s compass.

They have to be backed tonight at 15-2. In fact, don’t wait until tonight.
