Gunners v Foxes in Tiss chase

- BY JOHN CROSS

ARSENAL could face competition from Leicester for Monaco defender Marcel Tisserand.

The Gunners and the Foxes have both made enquiries for the versatile Congo international who can operate as a centrehalf or right-back.

Espanyol have also been tracking the 23-year-old, but that deal has been put on hold with Tisserand keen on a move to England.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been warned off Shkodran Mustafi – even though the Gunners believe the Valencia and Germany defender (below) wants to come to the Emirates.

West Brom are refusing to negotiate over their centre-back Jonny Evans, another Gunners target.

That leaves the north London club running out of options in defence.

Valencia would like to raise funds to buy Chelsea winger Pedro. Their boss Pako Ayestaran said: “The market is open and there are still possibilities. But Mustafi is not for sale.”

Arsenal are struggling to offload players such as out-of-favour right-back Mathieu Debuchy. The former France star has said he does not want a move to Roma, preferring to stay in London.
