Bale’s set to cash in

Bale started the new season in stunning fashion, scoring twice as Madrid won their first game away at Real Sociedad on Sunday, and his new contract could be announced before the close of the transfer window.

Ronaldo will also sign a record-breaking contract extension to tie him to the Madrid club for the rest of his career.

The deal is expected to take his wage packet beyond that of rival Lionel Messi, who is currently in talks with Barcelona over an improved contract of his own.
