Dad ‘stones daughter in murderous honour act’

- BY CHRIS HUGHES Defence and Security Editor BY and

A YOUNG Pakistani woman is fighting for her life and her male friend is dead after her father and brother-in-law allegedly stoned them both in an “honour killing”.

Police believe married Shakila Khan, 22, was followed on Wednesday to a house by her brother-inlaw who found her with a local man called Bilal, 27.

Knowing his brother, Shakila’s husband, was away on business, it is claimed he locked the pair in a room and summoned the girl’s father Rahim Bacha.

The men allegedly tied up the pair and, believing they had committed adultery, tried to stone them to death in the drawing room.

It is thought they felt justified by Sharia Law.

Bilal died from his injuries in Ghari, in Swat Valley, Pakistan. Shakila was left with horrific wounds and is under guard in hospital.

The men gave themselves up to police who have launched murder and attempted murder inquiries.

It was not far from where activist schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai survived being shot by the Taliban in 2012.

A local said: “Her family has disowned her. It is heartbreaking. She is under threat from relatives, who believe she has committed a crime.”
