Meet our medal-winners on UK’s biggest sports day
TEAM GB achieved their best Olympic medal haul in 108 years in Rio and this Saturday our athletes will be at events celebrating how the nation supported them by playing The National Lottery.
I Am Team GB is the UK’s biggest-ever sports day, with thousands of venues opening their doors for free.
Gymnast Max Whitlock and hockey star Crista Cullen will be at Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. Cyclist Elinor Barker will be at the Coronation Street set in Manchester, while gymnast Nile Wilson will be welcomed to the Emmerdale set in the Yorkshire Dales.
The Ricoh Arena in Coventry hosts kayak star Liam Heath. Reading Rowing Club will welcome Helen Glover and Alex Gregory, and Sport Wales Centre in Cardiff will have swimmer Jazz Carlin.
Trampoline ace Bryony Page is at Gateshead International Stadium, along with rower Katie Greves and gymnast Amy Tinkler. See iamteamgb.com for more.
