Michael back in Enders as iconic Colin
LORD Michael Cashman is making a brief return to EastEnders in his role as Colin Russell.
It is thought the plan is for him to appear in two episodes of the BBC show.
He played Colin from 1986 to 1989 and the character shared the first gay kiss on a British soap.
Now a Labour peer, Lord Cashman, 65, said: “It was a real joy to return to my old home of Albert Square.”
Colin’s visit to Walford will raise a big question for Dot Branning, played by June Brown, 89. Lord Cashman said working with her again was “exquisite”.
His scenes will be aired next month. Lord Cashman, who co-founded gay rights charity Stonewall in 1989, was a Labour MEP from 1999 until 2014 before he was appointed to the Lords.
