Ferrari death boy was ‘on a spin for treat’

- BY VICKY SMITH

A BOY of 13 killed in a Ferrari crash was being taken for a spin after asking if he could sit inside, a family friend claimed yesterday.

Car dealer Matt Cobden was driving the £1.2million F50 when it swerved off the road into a fence.

The youngster’s distraught mum heard the crash and tried in vain to resuscitate her dying son.

A pal posted online: “The mother and child were at a car dealership. The kid saw the F50 and asked the garage owner to sit in it. He replied that he could do one better and take him for a drive.

“Less than a minute later, the mum heard a smash.”

Dad-of-one Matt, 37, of Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, was injured in the crash near his garage at Hook, Hants.

The boy, from Winchester, has not been named. Police are investigating.
