A RARE spiny seahorse has been spotted by a diver.
Neil Garrick-Maidment of the Seahorse Trust said: “The sighting is so valuable. It shows another site where the seahorses are.”
The heavily pregnant male was seen in Weymouth Bay, Dorset, by Chris Brown of the nearby Sea Life park.
Spiny seahorses, the larger of the two native species, used to thrive in the area but have declined alarmingly.
