Benteke’s the key for Eagles
LIVERPOOL’S loss will be Crystal Palace’s gain according to James Tomkins.
Tomkins says £32million record signing Christian Benteke, 25, can be a success at Selhurst Park where he will be a key part of the Eagles’ plans.
Having been frozen out at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, Benteke made his Palace debut in Tuesday night’s 2-0 EFL Cup win over Blackpool and defender Tomkins said: “He was not in Klopp’s plans but he is certainly in ours.
“He comes here with a great record in the Premier League – he did brilliantly for Villa. He is brilliant in the air and, if you feed him the right balls, I am sure he will score goals.”
