WE FIGHT ON ALL FRONTS
PETR CECH says Arsenal are aiming to be contenders in every competition this season.
In the Champions League that means they will have to end their incredible round of 16 hoodoo – the Gunners have gone out at that stage in each of the last six seasons.
They last reached the quarter-finals in 2010 and semi-finals the season before.
Keeper Cech (above), reflecting on Arsenal’s “slow start” to the season and one point from two games, said: “We have plenty of points to win and we work towards our targets which are to play for the title and make sure we have a chance in every competition.”
Arsenal will be in pot two again in today’s group stage draw. Previously their consistency in qualifying earned them a place among the top seeds but that now goes to the champions.
They will face one of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Benfica, Paris SaintGermain or CSKA Moscow in their group.
