G4S refuses Labour plea
LABOUR’S conference could be axed after G4S rejected a last minute plea to police it.
The security giant said it did not have time to prepare for the four-day bash, due next month in Liverpool.
G4S had been asked to step in after a row between preferred security provider Showsec and the GMB.
Eric Alexander, of G4S UK, said it would “ordinarily plan for up to a year in advance” to guard such a large event.
