Ed’s Ballsing up cha-cha on Strictly

- BY LUCY MAPSTONE

FORMER Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls has called the cha-cha-cha a “nightmare” as he struggles with Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.

The ex-Labour MP tried the tricky up-tempo routine after just two days of training.

Balls, 49, wrote on Facebook yesterday: “We’ve just finished Day 2 of rehearsals Conclusion? Waltz and Charleston coming along but CHA CHA CHA a nightmare... time for a hot bath...”

He said that he was “shattered” the previous day after eight hours of rehearsals. He added: “I thought running the London marathon was hard, but I don’t think I have ever been so exhausted.”

Balls will be up against model Daisy Lowe, singer Will Young and TV host Laura Whitmore, among others. The new series starts on BBC1 on September 3.
