A selfie puts yob in frame for mugging
A THIEF who played a part in mugging a Good Samaritan was caught after taking a selfie on her victim’s mobile, a court heard.
Toni Flynn, 34, snapped a photo as she and boyfriend Thomas Farrell went on a vandalism spree. The phone was found by officers next to a damaged car.
Selina Sonola, 35, a mental health nurse, had stopped her car to help Flynn and Farrell, not knowing he was feigning a heart attack. He grabbed her handbag and the pair fled, Manchester crown court heard.
Miss Sonola said in a statement she felt “violated, scared and distraught” by the incident in February.
Flynn, from Beswick, Manchester, admitted theft, criminal damage and affray – and was given a 16-month suspended jail sentence. Farrell is still on the run.
