If any proof was needed that the Government is in thrall to big business, then surely the long-awaited obesity strategy cannot have made it more clear?

To leave the restriction of the amount of salt and sugar in our food in the hands of the food manufacturers has never worked. It needs to be mandatory and should have been controlled by law years ago.

The sugary drinks tax isn’t going to stop children drinking them, it’s just putting extra cost on to consumers.
