CLOUGH GRUDGE

-

Burton v Derby 7.45pm BURTON boss Nigel Clough faces a grudge match against former club Derby tonight after blasting the “ego” of American chief executive Sam Rush.

Clough (right) tackles the Rams for the first time since he was sacked in 2013 by Rush, who showed him the door. “I had a couple of calls from people when he came in,” said Clough. “We didn’t know him but people said, ‘Be very careful’. One even said, ‘The ego has landed!’ “We sorted Derby out from top to bottom but we weren’t given the time to see it through. “We had 39 players to get rid of and the wage bill of £17million that was eventually cut by 60 per cent.”
