MAURICIO POCHETTINO wants Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha to strengthen Tottenham’s supply line in readiness for the Champions League.

“We have improved because now we have two strikers. Now I think we need some players in the second line of offence to help the team compete better. We need more quality in the squad because it will be a very tough season with the Champions League and other very tough competitio­ns.”

Spurs have so far made an enquiry for Zaha with no bid as yet forthcomin­g.

But the Tottenham boss is a fan of the player, who fits his criteria being English and under 25. While Zaha’s critics have suggested he could struggle under a regime as discipline­d as Pochettino’s, the Argentine is keen to work with him.

It would be another crack at the big time for Zaha, who struggled at Manchester United after a £15m move in 2014.
