Mary eats 36 cakes a day for Bake Off
MARY Berry says she goes without a proper meal while filming The Great British Bake Off because she has to sample 36 cakes a day.
The BBC judge, 81, said: “I have soup at lunchtime and know exactly how many calories are in that soup.”
She added: “I’ll have a couple of starters in a hotel in the evening. That’s it.
“Otherwise I will put on weight because I am having to taste 36 cakes a day.” The series returned this week with 11 million viewers.
Mary also said parents need teaching about giving children the right food.
“I don’t think any household should have a deep-fat fryer,” she said.
“My grandchildren drink water all day. They don’t know what sugary drinks are,” she told Good Housekeeping magazine.
