Boxer’s wife tells of plastic surgery jibe in family bust-up
AMIR Khan’s wife claims the boxer’s brother and sister called her “Michael Jackson” in taunts over plastic surgery.
Faryal Makhdoom Khan, 25, escalated the family feud yesterday by insisting the campaign of abuse started before they were married.
She said: “Over the years, Amir’s brother and sister went on Twitter rants, went on Instagram rants, saying I’m very fake, saying I’ve done plastic surgery, calling me Michael Jackson – I was a pregnant woman, reading all that was not really nice.”
The American model’s new swipe came the day after she posted a naked photo of Amir’s brother Haroon on Snapchat, accusing the family of double standards – as she was called a “bad Muslim” for exposing her skin. She told ITV’s This Morning: “I used to take it in, I was very patient. Just recently, I think it just started to build up.
“I had done a catwalk and I was very proud of myself, Amir was very supportive and I had seen Amir’s youngest sister had said something like ‘dog walk’ and made a comment and laughed about it.
“It really hurt me – when I didn’t work, I was called a gold digger.”
Faryal said her problems with Amir’s family began six months into their engagement.
She had gone shopping in Pakistan for their 2013 wedding and made a surprise trip to see Amir in Dubai on the way back. The family banned her from seeing her fiance, she said. “I remember Amir’s mum and dad saying ‘she’s ruined our family holiday’. Amir had to fly back to the UK the next day, he was not allowed to see me.”
The couple used to live with Amir’s mum and dad, Falak and Shah, in Bolton – but have now settled in New York. They have a two-year-old daughter Lamaisah. Faryal added: “We never stopped talking to Amir’s family, they stopped talking to me. Amir had nothing to do with this – whatever problems we had. I would really like for us to all get along.”
Shah and Falak have rubbished Faryal’s allegations, saying they treated her like their own daughters.
