I KANE RULE THE WORLD
Spurs golden boy knows he’s up there with best strikers
HARRY KANE finally sees himself as one of the best strikers in the world.
The Spurs star smashed his third hat-trick in nine games on Sunday and reached 100 career goals. Like Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kane is blowing his own trumpet midway through yet another outstanding season.
The Golden Boot holder, 23, said: “If you look at my stats, my goals, then I’m up there. If you guys want to print that, I’m more than happy to have that.
“I just try to do my best. I like to score goals, obviously I will try to score as many as I can from now until the end of the season. I feel in good form.” Since the start of the 2014-15 campaign, Kane has scored more goals in all competitions than Neymar and sought-after Antoine Griezmann and the same number as Sergio Aguero.
Kane’s 17 goals so far this season put him joint-top of the Premier League scoring charts with Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
And that is even though Kane missed seven weeks with injury in the first half of the season.
He is now focused on retaining the Golden Boot after finishing the Premier League’s leading marksman last year.
Kane added: “That injury I had earlier in the season might have done me a bit of good, getting a bit more rest.”
The England man was written off as a one-season wonder after his 31 goals in all competitions at the end of the 2015/15 campaign. He remains determined to prove his critics wrong.
He said: “It motivates me when people say that. Of course I want to prove them wrong. I know I will score.”
