WES WANTS ANOTHER GO AT BARCA

- BY JAMES NURSEY

WES MORGAN has started to dream about getting his hands on the Champions League trophy – and he fancies another crack at Barcelona in the last eight. Leicester’s skipper hoisted the Premier League trophy last season and is on tenterhooks ahead of today’s draw for the quarter-finals. The Foxes are the only English side left in the competition and Morgan admits he has never even been to Barca’s Nou Camp or Real Madrid’s Bernabeu, let alone played there.

After losing 4–2 to Barcelona in a pre-season tournament, the 33-year-old says he would relish another tussle with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

Asked if he was dreaming of lifting the Champions League trophy, Morgan replied: “Yes. We achieved the impossible in winning the Premier League.

“I’m sure no one thought we’d get this far in the Champions League, so why not dream?

“We just have to wait and see who we get, then concentrate on our next game. I’ve never been to the Nou Camp or Bernabeu. It would be fantastic to go somewhere like one of those stadiums and experience that.

“You want to pit your wits against the best players in the world and that’s what they are.

“We’ve played Barca pre-season, so it would be nice to play them again.”

Morgan scored in the 2-0 second-leg triumph against Sevilla, as the Foxes reached the last eight with a 3-2 aggregate victory. It was the team’s third successive win under Craig Shakespeare following the sacking of boss Claudio Ranieri.

And Morgan added: “The past is the past and we have to look forward now. We’ll just try and continue what we’ve been doing for the last couple of weeks.”
