Helen McCrory found an unusual way to prepare for her role as a lawyer in ITV thriller Fearless. The actress, 48, left, says: “I chased a stranger for my research!

“I was going to the theatre and couldn’t help but overhear a man on the Tube chatting about the law. He got off at Charing Cross, and I jumped off and followed this poor man down the street!

“I said, ‘Do you know anything about human rights and criminal law?’. And he said, ‘Well, yes, I run a trust all about it.’ So I interviewed him.”
