Putin rival is held at demo

RUSSIA’S main opposition leader was arrested as thousands protested against Vladimir Putin.

Anti-corruption fighter Alexei Navalny was held as he walked to the unsanctioned demo in Moscow.

He later tweeted: “Guys, I’m fine” and urged people to keep up the protest against President Putin.

Protesters chanted “Putin is a thief ” and also claim PM Dmitry Medvedev has amassed a collection of mansions, yachts and vineyards.
