Home buyers rely on folks
SOME 34% of first-time home buyers now rely on financial aid from parents.
The Social Mobility Commission said the figure is up from 20% just seven years ago.
It warned the trend is another blow for workingclass kids who do not have rich parents to fall back on.
Former Labour Cabinet Minister Alan Milburn, chair of the SMC, said: “Owning a home is becoming a distant dream for millions of young people on low incomes.”
