Murder con is hunted over street attack
DETECTIVES are hunting an armed and dangerous killer after a grandad was fatally injured in a failed gunpoint robbery.
Timothy Smith, 57, died in hospital two days after two men in balaclavas demanded cash as he walked home in Hullbridge, Essex, then pushed him on to a wall causing brain damage.
Police want to talk to tattooed Scot Andrew McVicar, 33, who has served time for murder, about Mr Smith’s death.
DI Daniel Stoten, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “I need to speak to McVicar in connection with this incident. He’s a dangerous individual and should not be approached.”
