TOM PETT is hoping to make a rapid return to help Stevenage’s promotion push despite being carried off.

The midfielder needed stitches after suffering a gashed leg, but took to Twitter to say: “Not as bad as first feared. Hopefully back out there soon.”

Cambridge manager Shaun Derry said: “We’ve been good at grinding out results.”
